Creating and completing your Google Business Profile in Morocco: a step-by-step guide
Your Google Business Profile is the panel that appears when someone searches for your business, and your pin on Google Maps. It's free, and it's often the first thing a new customer sees. We created Lemsa's own profile in October 2026: here are the steps, and the traps to avoid.

Before you start: is your business eligible?
Google keeps profiles for businesses that meet their customers in person: a shop, a café, a salon, or a service that travels to customers (delivery, installation, repairs). An online-only business isn't eligible.
Get ready:
- a Google account you'll keep (not an employee's);
- the exact address, or the list of cities and areas you serve;
- a phone number where someone answers;
- your real opening hours and a few photos.
Create the profile
- Go to business.google.com and sign in.
- Name: your business's real name, as written on your sign. Don't add keywords ("Café X – best café in Casablanca"): it's forbidden and can get the profile suspended.
- Category: the most precise one ("Café", "Hair salon"…). You can add more later.
- Address: if customers come to you, enter it and check the pin on the map. If you go to them, hide the address and list your service areas.
- Phone and website: a number where someone answers, and your page (your Lemsa page, for example).
Verification
Google checks that the business exists and that you manage it. It often asks for a short video, filmed in one take with no editing:
- the outside: the street and the sign, so the business can be located;
- your work tools: products, counter, equipment;
- proof that you manage it: the keys, the till, or a document in the business's name.
Other methods may be offered depending on the case (call, text, email). Verification takes from a few hours to a few days.
Complete the profile: the most important part
A complete profile is better understood by Google and builds trust:
- Real opening hours, with special hours for public holidays and Ramadan.
- Description: who you are and what you offer, in 750 characters at most, with no links or promotions.
- Photos: real, recent photos (front, room, products, team). Text-heavy graphics are less useful.
- Products or services, with a photo and a short description.
- Social profiles: Instagram, Facebook.
Keep the same hours and phone number everywhere (profile, website, Instagram): information that matches everywhere builds trust, with Google and with customers.
Get your review link
Once the profile is verified, the "Ask for reviews" button gives you a direct link to the review window. That's the link you put on an NFC card, a QR code or a WhatsApp message. To use it well, read how to get more Google reviews, or how to find that link if you can't see it.
Keep the profile alive
An active profile stays visible:
- reply to every review (see our reply templates);
- add new photos every month;
- post an update from time to time: dish of the day, something new, an event;
- update your hours as soon as they change.
